With 21 offices across 10 states, White Knight Pest Control is one of the fastest-growing pest control companies in the country. After a record-breaking summer — at times closing 500 to 600 new sales a day — they added 50,000 new customers in a single year.
That growth landed squarely on their phone-based teams. Bethany Wunder, Director of Customer Relations, oversees customer service, billing, routing, and retention: more than 60 people managing thousands of calls a day and onboarding hundreds of new customers each week.
Hiring locally couldn't keep up. Candidates regularly didn't show up for interviews — Bethany's team would double-book interview slots because they knew half wouldn't walk in. Turnover in entry-level roles was high, and recruiting consumed hours every week.
White Knight needed a hiring model that could scale as fast as the business.

White Knight had never hired internationally before. So they ran a deliberate experiment: two team members from Hire Bloom and two from another provider, hired the same week.
The difference showed up immediately — starting with the interviews. "I loved how you guys gave me options with resumes attached," Bethany said. "The spreadsheet with dropdowns for interviews was super helpful. Everything was clear and simple." With the other provider, a company representative sat in on every interview. "It was just awkward," she said. With Hire Bloom, it was simply Bethany and the candidate — a normal interview, like any other hire.
The verdict was decisive. "We did not hire any additional reps from the other company," Stephen said. "Everything after that test run came from Hire Bloom."
What began as a two-person pilot grew to 30 Hire Bloom team members supporting seven phone-based departments — customer service, billing, routing, and retention among them.

The financial picture is just as clear: "When you look at wages, benefits, and the burden costs, Hire Bloom easily saves us around forty percent," Stephen said. Across 30 team members, that's an estimated $652,000 in annual savings.
The model also flexes with pest control's seasonality. "If we can get someone part-time or seasonal for those peak hours, that's perfect," Stephen said. "It lets us scale up when we need to without overhiring."
The fit goes beyond the numbers. Texas and California make up most of White Knight's customer base, and many Hire Bloom team members are fluent in both English and Spanish. "Having people who can speak both English and Spanish feels natural to our customers," Stephen said. "It's not a culture shock at all. That's a big plus for us."
Today, Hire Bloom is White Knight's default. "Every time we talk about hiring," Stephen said, "if it's not a referral or family member, we look to Hire Bloom first."
Before joining White Knight, Carlo Parra had been jobless for months. He'd interviewed with Hire Bloom and received an offer — then the client backed out. "I just forgot about it," he said. "I was already on the verge of desperation."
Two months later, Hire Bloom reached out with an interview at White Knight. "Out of nowhere, Hire Bloom called," Carlo said. "I consider that an answered prayer."
For Carlo, the role means stability — and time with the people who matter most. "We're a small family of three: me, my wife Liezel, and the apple of our eyes, Nathan," he said. "Remote work has given our family the opportunity to be always together. We watch Nathan's every step, every milestone, every performance unfold before our eyes."
