Employee benefits is a complicated field—and not one where you can afford to take risks. National Benefits Services (NBS) needed a hiring partner who could help them find candidates with strong attention to detail and respect for compliance.
Natalie Law, Senior Vice President of Finance & Human Resources at NBS, was also carrying the costs of recruiting: sifting through applications, vetting candidates, and scheduling interviews. That process consumed 10 to 15 hours a week of administrative time.

What distinguished the partnership wasn’t just the cost profile—it was the caliber of the people and their capacity to grow. “The biggest impact has been on the skill level that we’ve been able to gain from these team members,” Natalie said. “They’ve been able to teach us a lot of things as well.” NBS didn’t just fill roles with Hire Bloom, they gained expertise and adaptability.
The financial return is clear. At $14,123 in annual savings per team member (compared to local hires), NBS’s 33-person Hire Bloom team generates over $466,000 in annual cost savings. This represents a 33% reduction in staffing costs, including tax savings.
Recruiting time has cut down as well. Natalie explained, “Hire Bloom helps us with the cumbersome process of spending several days looking through applications and the vetting and recruiting process. They’re able to take that from us and help us find really great candidates. We’ve been able to save about 10 to 15 hours a week.” NBS can now put those hours back into running the business.
Individual performance tells a similar story, with Hire Bloom team members often outperforming local hires. The talent is great to work with, and they stick around too. Natalie continued, “With Hire Bloom, our retention rates are about two times more than what we would normally see for an entry-level position.” In an industry where turnover is a standing line item, that kind of stability changes the math.
When Sofia Morales joined NBS’s retirement internal support team through Hire Bloom, she had no background in the retirement industry.
NBS invested in her from day one. “I had no idea about the retirement industry, but I had the best leaders I could ever ask for,” Sofia said. “They taught me everything I know.” Within her first year, Sofia had become someone others leaned on. “I now get the opportunity to teach other team members,” she said. “And that’s a really big accomplishment.”
“My life has changed and improved so much since I joined the company,” Sofia said. “I now have the opportunity to share more time with my family, my friends, and also to serve in my church.”
The environment at NBS has shaped that feeling. “Everybody feels acknowledged and appreciated for everything they do,” Sofia said. “Waking up for work is not a hard job because I feel I really love what I do.”
